To Nacogdoches
The Howard Payne. marching
band "The High Steppers of the
Southwest" as its official foot-
ball trip for the. season will
travel to Nacogdoches to play nnd
present a half-time show at the
Yellow Jacket-Stephen P. Austin
game there Saturday night an-
nounced Ed Cain director.
Leaving llrnwnwnod at 7:30 a.m.
Saturday on two Arrow Coach
chartered buses the band will stop
at 10:30 a.m. In Alexia for a
rehearsal at the Alexia IIIrIi
School Stadium and for lunch.
Alexia citizens have been issued
an invitation to see the rehearsal.
The band will mako its head-
quarters' in Nacogdoches at the
Fredonia Hotel and will return to
llrownwood after the ballRame.

ceive Howard Payne's Alan-of-the-Year
honors at the UliiS homecom-
ing October 21-25.
Cope will bo presented at tliQ
halttime or the IIPC-Lamar Tech
game at 2 p.m. Oct. 2!i in Brown-
wood Lion Stadium nnd will
crown the homecoming queen
whoso identy will be revealed at
that time.
Homecoming events will begin
Friday. October 21 at 7 p.m. with

ing Cope in Veda Hodge Hall. At

HPC Science Division Co-operates To Offer
Televised Course in 'Atomic Age' Physics
Howard Payne College Is one
of the nation's colleges co-operating
with the American Association
of Colleges for Teacher Education
and the National Broadcasting
Company in offering a televised
course on atomic ago physics.
The course designed primarily
for high school teachers started
last Alonday and will bo televised
from G:30 until 7 each morning
Monday through Friday over NBC-
TV stations.
It is being taught by Dr. Harvey
E. White professor and vice-

Standards Set
There are accepted standards of
dress for men students as well as
the women. Dean of Student Bob-
by Parker reminded HPC's men
students' this week.
As a rule-of-thutub guide for
men students In selecting the type
of clothing to bo worn on campus.
Dean Parker suggests:
Outdoor shoes (not houseshoes
or slides) with socks should bo
woin on the campus at all times.
Any shirt worn on tho campus
must have sleoves (not cut off
at the shoulders.) Tails of dress
shirts should always be worn in-
side the trousers. Sports shirts
may be worn in or out. Shirts
should always bo buttoned. T-shirts
should bo worn when participating
lit physical education activities.
Sweat shirts are not to bo worn
to class or the cafeteria.
Shorts may be worn on tho
campus only when participating
in physical education and physical
sports activities. Bermudas are
classified as shorts. Shorts will

Shakespeare won state-wide rec-
ognition when it was originally
staged last Alarch.
The play also is to be presented
