Alert neighbor helps
catch burglary suspects
Two men have been
arrested and a third is
being sought in connection
with three alleged home
burglaries in the western
portion of the county
during the weekend of
July 26 ar<jl 27.
Arrested by the
Kerrville Police
Department in Kerrville
over the weekend, and
charged with the
burglaries, were Ramon
Fabrb, 39, and Erasmo
Jaime Jr., 29, both of
Kerrville. Fabro is now in
the Hondo city jail where he
also faces burglary
charges, while Jaime has
been released on bail from
the Kerr County jail.
Henry Louis Welge of
the Doss area, where two
of the burglaries were
commited--the Lee Feuge
and Gerald Ahrens homes,
was credited with the
breakthrough. Sheriff
David Nehr said that
Welge was traveling towar-
ds his whome when he
noticed a vehicle parked at
the Lee Feuge home that
had been backed up to the
front gate with the trunk
open.
Welge first passed the
scene, then decided to
return, and was stopped by
a vehicle he recognized as
the one that had been
parked at the Feuge
home. As the occupants
of the vehicle asked him
the directions to a home in
the area, Welge took down
(he vehicle’s 1 license
number, noted its make
and color and obtained a
fairly good description of
the men. Later in the
evening he learned about
the burglaries and then
furnished officers with the
information he had
gathered.
In addition to the two
burglaries in the Doss area,
the home of the Daltqn
Wilsons on the Harper-
Kerrville Ranch 'Road 783
was also burgalarized the
same weekend.
Officers have
recovered some of the items
stolen from all three
homes and expect to
recover still more.
Sheriff Nehr, in
discussing the burglaries
and the apprehension of
the men, credited Welge
with being responsible for
furnishing information that
led to their arrests, saying
such cooperation was
greatly appreciated by
peace officers.
