as the Lumpkins had
furnished hers when whe
got married.
Congratulations.
Congratulations to Irene
and Verlon Masters, who
celebrated their twentieth
wedding anniversary on
Sunday, August 3. They
were married a few days
after the Whitman sniping
from the UT Austin Tower
which left 14 dead.
William Lange came
from California for a visit
Feller reunion
nets 100 visitors
The Thomas Feller
descendents enjoyed a
reunion at the Harper
Community Building on
Sunday. The Committee
consisted of Christine
Kramer, Peggy Ernst,
Erno, Bodo, and Werner
Feller and Dr. Lorence
Feller. There were over 100
registered from the seven
children, with the Alfred
Feller family having over
half of them, including Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Feller from
New Iberia, Louisiana, and
Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Feller!
from Del Rio. The oldest
one present was Erno, at
84.
with relatives. This
weekend, Val and Alvin
Lange and nnie and her
husband, Emilio, took him'
to Nelsons for a fishing trip.
Jean and Andy Smith
came from Crowley to visit
her parents, Mr.a nd Mrs.
Jerry Bierschwale, and to
pick up Sheryl, who spent a
couple of weeks with the
Verlon Masters.
Descendents of Robert
and Johanna Bode gathered
July 209 at the Community
Hall. All but two of the
original families were
represented and that was
about 100 people who
enjoyed getting together.
Ronnie Bode was reelected
president to plan the next
one.
All the classes of the Lutheran Vacation Bible School formed for a grand finale
last week for the school closing. Helpers for the sessions included Elva wilson
, Ruby Hopf, Paula WQWienecke, Loye Wilke, Laura Lozier, Melanie Kneese, Kim
Pickens, Rickie Tatsch, Rachel Molder, Kelly Wanner, Melissa Rech, Kendra Ahrens a
and Trace Griedle.

kindness after my accident. Mrs. Strackbein was so help-
f>'L The Harper EMS team was great. Coach Rech and
Kelton were there for me and Richard Rangel and Mr.
and Mrs. Beard were so good to my grandmother. The
nursing staff, Dr . Bvrg and Barbara in physical Therapy
were all superb. Thank yov to all the people who called,
sent cards and especially the visits. It all helped a bad
time seem bearable. I appreciate every thovghifi'l kin-
dvicss.

Shop opens
Eldane Brown is
equiping a leather shop at
the end of Second Street.
He has renovated some of
the equipment his father,
Wallace Brown, had in his
boot and saddle shop.
Wallace started in 1918
making boots and saddles in
the building where Colan
Barrett Insurance is now.
He moved in the Hotel after
E.R. and mae got married
in 1920. When Wallace and
Belle Cowsert married they
built the house that was
moved to Harper from the
St. Louis World’s Fair, and
built his repair shop 2 in the
corner of the yard. He also
made and repaired violins.

Jason Porter from
Houston way has been
visiting with his gran-
dparents, Mr. and mrs. J.P.
Porter. He has enjoyed
country life.

Officers Club honoring
Major Kenneth James who
is retiring after 20 years in

arrived safely in Wisconsin.
