contests include the areas of
short stories, novels, poems, fea-
1 tue. articles and article photo-
graphs.
The Conference will Include
manuscript analyses, a series of
guest lecturers, and a manu-
script placement service.
Enrollment fee Is $22.50 for
the complete series of six ses
sions. A special make-up ses-
sion will be provided for late
enrollees. Palmer stated.

Goodman took a wedding trip
to Bandera following rites
solemnized Friday in the Cedar
Bayou Methodist church by the
Rev. Elza Love of Conroe,
former pastor of the church.
The bride Is the former Miss
Suzin Benton, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs W. W. Benlon of Ama-
rillo and the groom Is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. 8. L. Goodman
of Cedar Bayou
Baskets of white gladioli and
stock flanked by wrought Iron
candelabra holding English twist
candles decorated the wedding
scene. Family pews were mark-
ed by white satin bows. Back-
ground music was provided by
Alston Cranford, organist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown of
white French lace in shadow
Chantilly pattern fashioned with
fitted bodice and bouffant skirt
forming a chapel train. The bod-
ice was designed with an off-
shoulder neckline filled In with
a yoke of bridal Illusion edged In
scalloped lace. The scallop mo-
tif wns repeated at the skirt
hemline. A fingertip veil of il-
lusion depended from her pearl
tiara. She carried a teardrop
bouquet of white stock centered
by a single white orchid.
Miss Rita Benton served • as
her sister’s maid of honor. She
was attired in a -dress of pink
chiffon over taffeta featuring a
bouffant skirt and carried a Co-
lonial bouquet of blue carna-
tions.
Miss Peggy Benton attended
as bridesmaid to her sister, and
also Mrs. Bobby R. Casey. They
wore dresses of mint green chif-
fon over taffeta styled similarly
to the maid’s of honor and car-
ried Colonial bouquets of yellow
carnations.
Best man was Jack Zelks, bro-
tlier-ln-law of the groom, and
groomsmen were Norman Pon
and candlelighters were Eugene
and Kenneth Coalman, brothers
of the groom.
Flower girl was Christy Good-
man and ringbearer was Barney
Goodman, niece and nephew of
the groom.
A reception was held after the
wedding in the fellowship hall of
Cedar Bayou Methodist The
bridal table was centered by an
arrangement of white wedding
bells and candelabra with the
wedding cake and punch service
placed, at either end of the table.
Fob the wedding trip to Ban-
dera _ Mrs. Goodman chose a
navy‘sheath accented a white
collar with white accessories.
Mrs. Goodman graduated from
Amarillo High school, Amarillo,
and Goodman graduated from
Robert E. Lee High school and
is employed with Phillips Petro-
leum company in Pasadena.
