Lee College
presents ftee
piano recital
on April 11
Duo Korusa, a husband and wife
piano duet team that has performed
rare and newly composed music in
venues throughout the United States,
will give a free recital at 1:30 p.m.,
Monday at the Lee College Perform-
ing Arts Center.
Presented by the Lee College Visu-
al and Performing Arts Division, the
Duo Korusa recital will feature selec-
tions by Bach, Casella and Dvorak.
The community is encouraged to
attend.
Since its inception in 2012, Duo
Korusa has been dedicated to the
performance of lesser-known works
of the 19th and 20th centuries and
new works of the 21 st century. Both
members of the duet team — pianists
Jacob Clark and Sujung Cho — are
also academics with a keen interest in
research. The duo also works closely
with composer Thomas Dempster;
they premiered his piano duet and
electronic track, “Congaree Voices,”
at the South Carolina Music Teachers
State Conference and the New York
City Electroacoustic Music Festi-
val, and joined the Lamar University
Wind Ensemble to commission him
for a new composition that will debut
in 2017.
For more information about the
Duo Korusa recital at Lee College,
contact Charlotte Mueller at cmuel-
ler@lee.edu or 281425-6858.
