Election Held (o Nominate Can·
didates for City Offices.
Outside of the contest for city at-
torney very little Interest was seem-
ingl.V manifested in the primary
election held yesterday but the to-
tal vote polled makes a good show-
ing. According to the number of
votes recorded at the three voting
places the total was 6*22 or 37 [ewe
than the number of poll tav receipts
issued by City AssesKor and Col-
lector Spalding. City Marshal Tom
Dixon won the nomination for re-
election by M vote* over his oppon-
ent Fred Meredith. Ο. H. Chap-
man who was » candidate for re-
election to the office of city attorney
was defeated by Α. I.. Love by a
majority of 127. In the second ward
VV. L. I*. Leigh won ont as a candi-
date for alderman In ward No. 3
Alderman Lancaster was Kiven the
nomination over H. A. Hickman by
a majority of 151 votes.

The action of the higher court was
made known here today by a tele-
gram received at the office of Tem-

dant is arraigned in the district
court it will be on a charge of man- !

three times for murder. In the first

slaughter and given a term of five
