If young boys and girls could
only understand how happy it
makes their parents when they
arc doing well and conducting
themselves like ladies and gentle-
men it seems to us that they
would make a greater effort than
they do to avoid evil deeds and
acts. A greater part of the pleas
urea of life to parents is found
in the success and welfare of
their children going out of their
homes. And much of the mis-
ery is caused by the wayward-
ness and misdeeds of sons and
daughters. — Bronte Enterprize.

BALD HEADS NOT WANTED
Baldness is too Generally Considered
A Sign of Advanced Aft
A bald headed person do«>s not
have an equal chance with one
blessed with a healthy head of
hair because baldness is general
ly accepted as an indication of
age. Many large corporations
have established an age limit
and refuse to take men over 35
years of age as new employees.
Probably 65 percent of bald
headed people may regain a good
head of healthy hair if they will
follow our advice and accept our
offer. We have a remedy that
we positively guarantee to grow
hair on any head ualess the
roots of the hair are entirely
dead their folicles closed and
the seal)) has become glazed and
shiny. We want people to try
this remedy at our risk with the
distinct understanding that un-
less it does exactly what we
claim it will and gives satisfaction
in every respect we shall make
no charge for the remedy used
during the trial.
We know exactly what we are
talking about and with this offer
back of our statements no one
should scoff doubt our word or
hesitate to put our remedy to an
actual test.
We want every one in Jeffer-
son who is suffering from any
scalp or hair trouble dandruff
falling hair or baldness to try
our Iiexall "915" Hair Tonic.
We want them to use it regular-
ly say until three bottles have
been used — and if it does not e
radicate dandruff cleanse and
refresh the scalp tighten the
hair in its roots and grow new
hair w ■ will return every cent
paid us for the remedy for the
mere asking. There is no for
mality expected and we exact
no obligations fohrn the user
whatever.
We are established right here
in Jefferson and make this offer
with a full understanding that
our business us booms entirely
dej>ends upon the sort of treat-
ment we record our customers
and we would not dare make
the above offer unless we were
positively certain that we could
substantiate it in every particu-
lar. Remember you can obtain

Negro Arrested For Mnrderlng
Women Twenty-one Years Atfo.
A negro bj the name of Wade
Hampton was brought here from
Cass county Wednesday of this
week by Sheriff 1) H Holly of
Franklin county and lodged in
jail on a charge of murdering
Mrs Casey a white woman in
Franklin county in September
1H90 more than twenty one year
ago.
The matter created wide-
spread interest at the time and
was one of the most horrible and
dastardly crimes ever commited
in this part of the state. It is
stated that the negro went to the
homo of Mrs Casey when she
was alone and claimed that he
wanted to buy some molasses
and that when she went to the
smoke house to get the molasses
for him he attacked her first
commiting criminal assault and
then cut her throat and put her
body in a meat box where it was
found several hours later in a
horribly mutilated condition.
There was evidence of a terriblo
struggle between the woman
and her assailant in which she
was considerably disfigured
and a great portion of her Uair
pulled out. When the body was
found the head had been almost
severed.
Soon after the cotnmision of
the crime this negro Wade
Hampton it is said was arrested
but evidence sufficient to hold
him could not bo found and he
was released and who the mur-
derer was remained a mystery
until a few days ago when his
sister-in-law who resides in
Greenville made a statement a-
bout it. Sheriff Holly set on
foot an investigation at once
and went to see the negro woman
in Greenville and it is said tnat
he obtained from hera full state
ment of the affair as it had boon
told to her at the time by the
murderer himself. Mr Holly
then went to Cass county and
arrested the negro and was
lodged in jail hereon account of
the jail at Mt. Vernon being in-
secure. Mount Pleasant Times
