Banks Forsyth. Phone 199. tfe
In discussing the widening of the
two main streets of Crystal City, one
of which must he widened to meet the
requirements of the highway, it was
found that the telephone and electric
light |hlies would have to is- reset.
The matter was taken up with the
companies to place their imles ami
wires in the alleys, which was satis
factory. There are no alleys desig-
nated so (!. ('. Jackson was appointed
by the City to secure a rigid of way
front the owners of the property in
the blocks along the main streets to
place the poles for the wires.
To take these poles and wires off
the street is considered one of the host
things to l>e done for the appearance
of th»- town. There has already been
sonic talk, and in all probability it
will be done, of placing ornamental
light posts along the main streets and
have it real "white way."
The engineer for the Central Power
,V Light Company has l>cen here this
week in regard to moving the light
company poles.
