Dear Mel:
I am deeply sorry that I am unable to attend the festivities
honoring the women who served our nation during World War II. I
want to add my highest regards and respect to the women of "WASP"
who served so gallantly.
We in Northwest Louisiana are especially proud of our own
Charlyne Creger, who served with the "Women Airforce Service
Pilots." I join with all of the members of the Exchange Club in
honoring Ms. Creger as this year's recipient of the "Forgotten
Heroes" award.
After the group disbanded, she continued to selfishly give
of her time and talent as an Air Force nurse, until she received
a disability discharge. Always a giving person and one we admire
and respect, she continues her causes by working for the Women in
Military Service Memorial, located in Arlington Cemetery.
Again, our gratitude to her for her dedication and devotion
to her countrymen.
Sincerely yours,
JI ,TcE r
