Community Luncheons
To Resume Thursday
The monthly Community
Luncheon will resume next
Thursday, March 3rd at 12
noon at the Community Cen-
ter. The group has failed
to meet for the last two mon-
ths, but plan to resume me-
eting every month. Please
bring a covered dish.

Club will serve as hostesses.

Livestock Show This
Saturday In Panhandle
The Carson County Junior
. Livestock Show will be Feb-
ruary 25 and 26 at the Ag
Bam in Panhandle.
The kitchen will be open
on Friday and Saturday,
11 till 1 and 5 till 7. -
Judging starts at 8 a. m.
Saturday. The sale will be
Saturday evening. Every-
ing is invited to attend.

Protests Made To City
About Vehicles, Dogs
Concerned citizens have
registered protests with the -

regulating nuisances within »

the City of White Deer. The
protests are in reference to
abandoned and junked motor
vehicles and dogs running at
large on public or private pro
perty.
Residents are reminded
that "junk vehicles located
in any place where they are
visible from a public place
or a public right-of-way are
detrimental to the safety and
welfare of the general public,
tend to reduce the value of
private property, invite van-
dalism, create fire hazards'
and constitute and attract a
nuisance creating a hazard
to the health and safety of
minors: thereby producing
blight which is adverse to
the maintenance and contin-
ued development of the City
of White Deer. Such vehicles
are therefore declared to be
a public nuisance. Any owner
of an abandoned or junked
vehicle who allows such ve->
hides to remain on his pro-
perty after being duly notifiec
of the provisions regulating
abandoned and junked motor
vehicles and fails or refuses
to comply with the terms of
the city's ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdeme-
anor and upon convicition
shall be fined a sum of not les
than ten (S10) dollars nor mon
than fifty ($50) dollars for
each violation, each and ev-
ery day of such violation shall
be deemed a separate and
complete offense. "
AU dog owners are remind-
ed that it is unlawful for any
owner of any dog to allow
such dog to be "at large with-
in the corporate limits of the

Joe Branch, Brother
Of Sara Wheeley And
Eunice Keahey Dies
Services for Joe B. Branch,
brother of Sara Wheeley and
Eunice Keahey of White Deerj
were held Saturday at the
United Methodist Church in
Plainview with Dr. R. L.
Kirk, pastor, officiating.
Graveside services were held
in Miami Cemetery by Wood-
Dunning Funeral Home of
Plainview.
Mr. Branch, 67, was born
in Emery and grew up in
Miami. He moved to Plain-
view in 1972.
Survivors include his wid-
ow; three sons, Phil and Clair,
both of Houston, and Dr. T.
Coe Branch of Plainview; a
daughter, Mrs. Cleoia Sonn-
tag of San Antonio; three
sisters, Mrs. Keahey and Mrs.
Wheeley and Mrs. Mary Car-
riker of Nederland; two
brothers, Tom and Hugh,
both of Cut Bank, Mont;
and 11 grandchildren.

ion steer. Charles also received Showmanship in his class.
In the middle photo is Billy Mesneak with his Grand Champ-
ion pig. Bebo Terry is shown in the bottom photo with his '
Grand Champion lamb. He also received Showmanship
in the lamb division.
