Funding Formulas
Adopted
The Texas Higher Education Coordi-
nating Board has adopted funding formulas
for the Legislative Budget Board and the
Governor's office to use in developingShort Shots]
higher education budget proposals for the
1990-91 biennium. The Board is recom-
mending that the state's public community
colleges receive an increase of $325 million
and Texas State Technical Institute and
other technical programs receive $36 million
more than that appropriated for the 88-89
biennium. # # # #
Enrollment Forecasts
Revised
A revised forecast of enrollments in
Texas institutions of higher education shows
public community colleges growing slightly
faster than senior colleges. Community
colleges are expected to enroll 352,000 stu-
dents by the year 2000 compared to last fall's
enrollment of 321,869. # # # #Secondary
Curriculum Rules Adopted
B.VE. Rules Deleted
The State Board of Education approved
on third and final reading the revised rules
designed to implement the Master Plan for
Vocational Education.
Deleted from the rules on third reading
were rules related to the newly developed
Basic Vocational Education course.
Minor editorial changes were made as
