By sealed bids to the Dallas
Fire Department the
Volunteer Fire
bought a fire truck and Roby
Watson, a fireman, and Mrs.
Watson, went to Dallas Wednes-
day to bring the truck to Leon-
ard.
The 1,000 pumper brings to 3
the number of trucks owned by
the department. With this num-
ber a savings of $1800 to the
community will be realized on in-
surance each year.
The purchase of the truck was
made posible by donations to the
department, Leonard Picnic
proceeds, a watermelon supper,
United Fund aid, and a domino
tourney. The city will purchase
equipment for the truck.
