He is the twenty-one year old
son. of Mr. and Mrs. Joe R.
Jacobieof Route 2, Electra. His
brothers, Joey, Jimmy, Jeff,
Justin, Jesse and Joshua and
his sister Mary are and have
been all-sports athletes in |
Electra schools. John is
engaged to Miss Sue Nobile,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Nobile of Tulia, Texas. Sue is a
major in Special Education at
WTSU, where she is a junior.

recognized at the'noon meeting
on Tuesday and plans made for
the January banquet. Complet-

Joe Holmes, current president,

banquet. The banquet is to
honor area persons involved in
agriculture and will feature a

Chamber Introduces

Earl Millhollon, plant
superintendent for C-E Natco,
was elected president of the
Electra Chamber of Commerce
for 1976 in a meeting of the
board of directors at noon on
Tuesday.
Millhollon will select two vice
presidents to serve with him
during the coming year. The
three officers will take office
during the annual chamber
banquet on Friday, Jan. 30.

Santa Claus
Request Letters
Santa Claus has informed
Electra Star News that it is time
for all the little ones to write
him.
Letters can .be mailed or
brought to the Electra Star
office by the deadline December
1811!
All letters will be published tn
the December 25 issue of the
paper and they will then be
forwarded to the North Pole
before Christmas.

In other business the
Commissionrs learned that
disbursements in the utility and
general funds were about 46%
of the budget during the first
five months of the fiscal year.
Projected revenue for the utility
funds was aout 44% and the
general fund about $50 for this
period.
These figures were reported by
the city manager in a monthly
review of the budget. Monthly
bills totaling $6,935.87 were
approved for payment, and the
commissioners voted to not
meet on Tuesday Dec. 23, the
night before Christmas Eve.
Next meeting will be the second
Tuesday in January at 7p.m.
Formal approval of the City's
application to the Department of
Housing and Urban Develop-
ment in the amount of
$23,300.00 for the period of Dec.
3, 1975 through Dec. 2, 1976,
was announced in a letter

Director.
City Manager Moore said
further paperwork is necessary
before hinds can be drawn by
the City. He anticipates
beginning using the funds in
January for sewer improve-
ments.
Mayor Jack Hollis conducted
the meeting with Commis-
sioners Delmar Ballard, Don
Wright, Joe Holmes and John
Swanson in attendance. The
group heard complaints from a
local citizen regarding the
parking of autos blcoking a
residential street, alleged rock
throwing by youngsters and
unlicensed dogs violating the
leash ordance. All were
referred to the police depart-
ment through the city manager.
Diane Teaff, VOE Student of the week, works in the Electra
Independent School District Tax Office. She receives and posts
tax payments and types tax reports for the school board. She also
types and.files tax statements. Diane is in VOE. Drama Club and
National Honor Society. As for future plans, she would like to
continue working for the tax office.
