here Saturday. Mr. Smith comes from
one of the Denton county wheat sec-
tions and says that in his sixteen
years’ residence his community has
never had more acres devoted to
wheat nor a finer prospect at this
time of the year. He says that the
crop on the Johnson grass fields is
looking especially good, the hot. dry
weather the past summer having giv-
en that pest a very severe setback
Reports from all over the wheat
sections are to the same effect and
winter pasturage on the wheat and
oats fields will begin to be used
within the next few days or a week.

Hunt County Grand Jury Indicts Al-

GREENVILLE. Tex., Oct. 30.-—
The grand jury this afternoon re-
turned indictments against twenty-
two persons who are alleged to have
incited the mob recently which
broke into the county jail and seis-
ed three negroes suspected of the
assault on Mrs. Will L. Lloyd. De-
facing public property is also charg-
ed. Service has been made against
J. H, Barlow of Wolfe City. He
was unable to make bond and was
arrested. The other names are with-
held.

to be here, preparations for the ses-
sion have about been arranged and

night, November 6th, and will con-
tinue through Sunday and a part of
Monday with delegates expected from
nearly every organized Sunday
school in the county. The program
has been arranged, as stated, except
for a few numbers, but will not be
published until these missing num-
bers are filled in by the state head-
quarters.

conflcts between Texas rangers and
citizens at Amarillo, Captain Tom
