If you’d like to see a wild and
Wooley-Fields day of fun and fro-
lic—and who doesn’t these days
—don’t miss “Holy Matrimony,”
which is slated for the Grand on
Wednesday.
For when he of the pointed
beard and double-jointed tongue
—Monty Wooley—gets together
with the loveable lady of laughter
and song, Grade Fields, there’s
bound to be an uproar! And that’s
the way it is all through the new
20th Century Fox comedy hit, ac-
cording to advance reports.
As you might imagine from the
title, Kid Cupid draws a bead on
bewiskered Monty, and before he
knows it he’s together with Grade
in a rose covered cottage—with
a laugh for every single shingle
on the roof.
To Producer Nunnally Johnson
goes the credit for much of the
hilarity in the film, for in addition
to the responsibility of filming
the picture, he wrote the screen
play from Arnold Bennett’s fam-
ed “Buried Alive”. And he made
certain that the film was peopled < |

“The Gang’s All
Here” Hailed As Musi-
cal Tops!
IffMjisEKMK
Now we know why they shout
“Flail, Kail,” before “The Gang’s
All Here.”
For that’s just how critics the
country over are acclaiming 20th
Century-Fox’s great, new musi-
cal triumph scheduled to open
Saturday midnight at the Grand
Theatre.
And when they say, “The Gang’s
All Here,” they mean just that,
for the picture boasts a dazzling
galaxity of the brightest stars in
musical history, headed by Alice
Faye, Carmen Miranda, radio’s $64
question man, Phil Baker, and
Benny Goodman and his famous
Orchestra, with a brilliant sup-
’ porting cast of lopnotchers in-
cluding Eugene Pallet te, Char-
lotte Greenwood, Edward Ever-
ett Horton and Tony De Marco,
as well as James Ellison, Shelia
Ryan and Dave Willock.
All in all, The Gang’s All Flere
adds up to the most lavishingly
‘lovely,: tuneful terrific, mirthful,
J marvelous, -andogirlfully _glorious
musical of ’ the“ year,'"what”* witK”
Alice singing love songs as only
she can sing them, Carmen as de-
lightfully delirious as ever, Phil
Baker “knocking them in the
aisles” with hrs-high hilarity, and
the king of swing beating out the
solid-sending rhythms that have
made him America’s No. 1 band
leader.

The newest and most exciting
of the superb series of films re-
counting the adventures of “The
Saint,” Leslie Charteris’ famous
fictional creation, “The Saint
Meets The Tiger,” comes to the
Liberty Tuesday only.
A Republic picture with Hugh
Sinclair in the title role, the fas-
feature revolves
Saint’s desperate
tussle with a murderous crimin-
al ring.
The manner in which he reveals
the identity of a mysterious gangs-
ter who has perpertrated a daring
robbery, finally recovering the
booty, makes for the thrilling story
basis of the new film.
