is cautious to buy from a respon- <
sible firm and he counts very large-
ly on his success in winter feeding
from use of tankage. It is made
into a slop, using one-half busbe
of tankage of 52 gallons of water,
adding mill feed to thicken. He
calculates about one fourth of a
pound to the hog at a feed. It can
be fed too strong. He slops with
this once a day and feeds corn
twice. Although his feed that he
purchased has been high priced
this year he made a satisfactory
profit and margin in selling tbe
$18 485 worth oi pork hogs.
The coming year he 5 expects to
raise more of his own stock; has
now on hand 57 choice brood sows
for spring farrow.
He wishes all to understand that

provement over the old greasy salves
and lotions which are not only unpleas-

It is always interesting to hear a that it takes ip bushels of corn to

experience and the experience of

Here is an Ohio farmer who has
made a -specialty of feeding bogs
for the pork market, his farm
consisting of 132 acres; but it is
arranged purposely for this business
aud you can rest assured that it is
looked after just as closely as a
banker looks after his bank inter-
ests. There is an increasing de-
mand for capable men on the farm;
it requires training, corret thintfing,
as well as teaching by a practical,
