Revivalmen Quartet
To Play Here
The diamond jubilee celebrat-
ion of the KJT. a La Grange-
based fraternal insurance org-
anization, will be held Sunday,
Aug. 9, in conjunction with the
Sacred Heart Catholic church
bazaar at the FayetteCounty fair
David Savage from Seminole, Ok-
lahoma; Robert Polvado from Au-
stin, Texas; Stig Ostlund from
Waxahachie, Texas.
Pastor Noel E. Dill invites all
grounds.
The jubilee celebration begins
with a 10 o’clock Mass at the
Sacred Heart Church, with Most
Rev. L. J. Reicher, Bishop of
Austin, and Most Rev. John L.
Morkovsky, Bishop of the Gal-
veston-Houston diocese, in att-
endance. Bishop Morkovsky will
deliver the sermon.
The Mass will be followed by a
special program at 2:30 p.m. at
the Fair Pavilion, with Supreme
officers in charge.

Arlan Citzler; and finance, War-

Heading the various entertain-
ment committees are Franklin
Huelsebusch, Clarence Schwake,
Mike Sharp. Clinton Bippert, and
Dr. C. Garrette Ray.

FC Babes Win, 2-1
Thriller in State
Tourney Tuesday
The Fayette County Babe Ruth
team triumphed 2-1 over Ned-
erland to win their first game
in die State Tournament at Level-
land Tuesday night-
The game was tied, 1-1, at
the end of the regular 7 innings
and it wasn’t until the bottom
ninth that the Fayette Babes
saw light as Wagner walked,
stole second and third and scor-
ed when Shaw doubled.
Nederland scored first, in the
third inning, but Fayette County
didn’t wait long to even the count.

The FayetteCounty Farm Bur-
eau’s annual queen contest, talent
find, and dance will be held Sat-
urday, August 8th. at the Fair
Pavilion here.
The contest will begin at 8
pan. and a dance will follow with
Carnival CaaMuittees Mamed
Forty-nine La Grange Jaycees
mapped out plans for their An-
nual Carnival to beheld Thurs-
day night. Aug. 20 at the Fair
Pavilion and grounds. The mon-
thly meeting was held at J ast-
er’s Camp on the river Monday
night.
Overall chairmen of the ann-
ual carnival are President Tr-
avis Etzel and Secretary Jack
Scharnberg. This year’s event
will feature a free dance for
which Lee Use’s Orchestra win
provide the music. There will
be plenty of entertainment, eats,
and drinks for both young and

ounced.
Singing has been a regular ac-
tivity for “The Revivalmen’’ for
sometime in that they have trav-
eled extensively throughout the
Southwest as members of the
college’s famous Harvester Ch-

Lil League Tourney
Three double-headers will
precede the championship final
in the four night Little League
invitational tournament planned
Aug. 10-13 at Shaver Park in
Weimar.
Teams of 11- and 12-year-olds
from 8 towns will compete. The
Weimar Lions Club will give the
manager of the winning team $50
and the second place manager $2^
and Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. in
Weimar will have a souvenir for
each player.
No admission will be charged.
The schedule will be this:
Monday, August 10: At 6:30,
Shiner vs. La Grange. At 8:30
Gonzales vs. Columbus.
Tuesday, Aug. 11: At 6:30,
Schulenburg vs. Flatonia. At 8:30
Weimar vs. Moulton.
Wednesday, Aug. 12: At 6:30,
Shiner-La Grange winner vs. Go-
nzales-Columbus winner. At 8:30
Schulenburg- Flatonia winner vs
Weimar-Moulton winner.
Thursday. Aug. 13: Semi-fin-
als winners in championship

At Water Show
The La Grange Recreational
Association will sponsor their
Annual Water Show and Bathing
Beauty Revue Saturday night, Aug. p qf Invitational
15, at 7:30 p.m. Admission will
be 50# for adults and 25# for ch-
ildren under 12.
This year the show will feat-
ure the Silver Finns Swim Club
from San Antonio, doing a var-
iety of synchronized swim num-
oers which they performed at the
National AAA meet in New York
City this year. The team is to
do five numbers which will ln-
'* elude a tribute to the Armed Fo-
rces, a monkey number from the
Wizzard of Oz, an Irish number
“Hey, Look Me Over”, and a
Charlston number.
The show will again be under
the direction of Mrs. Annazell
Von Minden who urges all boys
and girls interested in participat-
ing in the racing and diving ev-
ents to please be at the swimming
pool Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 a.m.
All business concerns and or-
ganizations are also reminded
that if they are interested in sp-
\ onsoring a contestant in rhe bath-
ing beauty revue, to get in touch
with Mrs. Von Minden by Fri-
day. Aug. 7. Contestants must
be between the ages of 15 and
20. The entry fee is $5.00.
