PROGRAM: "Cemeteries and Gravestones"
We will be privileged to hear 3 members of the Society speak
about several important aspects of making the most of our
cemetery discoveries. First, RENEE SMITH will tell us about the
5 kinds of cemeteries, how to locate them, what to do when you
find them, and how to prepare the gravestone for copying and
photographing. Then HELEN LU will speak on what can be done
about unmarked graves, and how to acquire government markers for
veterans. MARGARET ANN SMITH (a Past President of the Society)
will give us some intriguing information on how to make concrete
markers-- a do-it-yourself project for those of us who are lucky
enough to find those important (though unmarked) graves. Sounds
like a very interesting and useful program - JOIN US!DON'T FORGET THAT DUES ARE DUE IN JANUARY.
