Captain Shadle is a senior
pilot with .11 years' service in
the air force. He resides with
his wife and two sons at Fair-

FORMER RESIDENT DIES
AT STAMFORD AUGUST 17

Funeral services for Joseph
Reed Tanner, 77, were held on
Thursday, August ID. at 5
p.m. Mr. Tanner; fathe - of
.Mrs. R. F. Mahood of Stam-
ford. died here Tuesday.
Burial was in the cemetery
at Center Point near the grave
of his wife, who died .Julv lit
Services were held at Kerr-
ville.
Mr. Tanner, a native of
Buffalo. N.Y.. lived in West
Texas in the early years of th'-
section. He came to Stonewall
County from St. Louis as a lad.
He established a drug store at
Aspermont in 1900, and con-
tinued to operate it until 191'!
when the family moved to
Blum.
He later lived at Lampassas
before g'oing to Kerr County,
where he operated a farm for
several years before resuming
the' drug business some 10
years ago at Center Point. H •
was a registered pharmacist
more than 50 years.
He is survived by two daugh-
ters. Mrs. Mahood of Stam-
ford. and Mrs. E. Boverie of
Wichita Falls; five grandchil-
dren and five great-grandchil-
dren.
