19 term of the Jefferson Davis High
School. The opening hour found, as-
sembled In the auditorium, myriads
of eager school children, quite a num-
ber of fond parents offering their wee
tots with their first primers, various
members of our school board, and
our school faculty, <omposed almost
entirely of new teachers. Reverend
GHPam conducted the devotional ex-
lerches, followed by welcoming and
eneouraclng remarks from Messrs.
Wm. Austin, T. H. Lewis and earnest
words of co-operntlon from our new
superintendent, Professor Illbhetts.
After a week the organization of the
school is about complete and the
foundation for a successful year’s
work is begun. Despite the fact that,
so many of our boys are attending

supervision of our principle, Mr
