MARCIA FRANK HOLIDAY
CANTORIAL ASSISTANT
Mrs. Marcia Frank, a mezzo-
soprano and a lady of much musical
accomplishment, will assist Cantor
George Wagner for the two Koi
Nidre Services Friday evening,
September 19.
A graduate of the University of
Texas, the native of Burlington,
Vermont has completed two years
of her musical doctorate with a
major in opera. In private life, she
is married to long-time Beth Yeshurunite Steven Frank and
is the mother of a boy and a girl, ages five and two.
In addition to singing roles in four concert choirs of note,
the comely young matron is a voice instructor, a church
soloist, and an opera apprentice. She has also directed
operatic scenes at the University of Texas, in addition to a
large roster of roles which has performed (eight complete
operas) or understudied.
Mrs. Frank has appeared as Octavian in DER ROSEN-
KAVALIER; as Dorabella and Despina in COSI FAN
TUTTI; as Wellgunde in DIE GOTTERDAMERUNG, and
as Azucena in IL TROVATORE, to name a few.
When the real Marcia Frank sings on Yom Kippur eve,
the combined roles of her vast background, coupled with
cantorial intonation, portend an experience to be savored
as well as enjoyed.
