The tower of San Martino Church is centered and rises above the buildings. In the background are the surrounding mountains and Lago Maggiore along which Ronco sopra Ascona was built. The back of the postcard contains a message from Lena Carter Carroll to Daniel W. Kempner discussing her time in Locarno and expressing her delight that they will meet in Paris, France soon.

Item text: "Locarno 1948

I do not know whether this card will reach you and when but I send it all the [illegible] wishing to give you an idea of the beautiful place we spend a month at. When we arrived in Locarno end of February the snow covered still all the country and now the garden and the field are full of flower: cornelia, [illegible] mimosas, apple trees, etc. It was a wonderfull[sic] spring without a day of bad weather-Now we go back to Paris and will try to keep smiling. We are waiting for you and will be delighted to see you again. Most affectionately yours
[illegible]"
