Mr. Emile Frankl
35, Rue Berger
Paris, France
M-y dear Franki:
I received your letter of March 26th, and I want to tell you that I
wish to engage you from the arrival of the LIBERTEE' on the 22nd of August.
This is the sailing leaving New York on the 16th of August. I would naturally
want you to meet me, as you have before, in Le Havre.
Miss Kempner will not be with me, so I will be practically alone.
My present plans are to stay a few days in Paris, then proceed to Venice,
Florence and Rome, with perhaps a few days in Switzerland, then back to Paris.
I am sure you have not forgotten how you took care of Nickle, taking
him out first thing in the morning, in the evening, and any other time it is
necessary. This is very important to me, as being alone, it is all very
difficult.
I realize that the terms have changed very much since last year,
but if these wages are current, this is naturally what I expect to do.
You know how very particular I am that you should look neat at all
times. I have spoken to Mr. Marin and he understands that I am engaging you.
Hoping to hear from you, I remain
Yours very truly,
Mrs. D. vV. KernpnerJBK: e
