Accreditation Committee
Will Inspect Tarleton
A special committee of Dean
Elmer Cox of Texas Wesleyan
College and Dean Walter Adams
Of Abilene Christian College will
be on the Tarleton campus Mon-
day, February 17, to inspect Tar-
leton. The records of the college
will bo open to the men as they
classify Tarleton as to accredia-'
tion.
Last April, after an inspection
of the same type, Tarleton was
affiliated as an institute of senior
college status. Now hopes of be-
coming a fully accrediated senior
college will be decided upon by the
committee.
. The committee will report their
findings to the annual meeting of
colleges in April and give their
pros and cons of Tarletons' stature;
It will then be voted on by all
members present. The purpose of
the meeting and the full accredia-
tion would allow Tarleton students
to transfer credits to any acere-
diated Texas senior college with-
out difficulty, or loss of credits.
This is a very important meet-
ing to the future of Tarleton
State College.
All Cars Must
Be Registered
Many of the student-owned cars
on the Tarleton campus do not
have the required registration de-
eal on the windshield. Violators of
campus traffic regulations may bo
fined for each violation. The cur-
rent Student Handbook states,
"Each student of the college who
operates or parks a motor vehicle
on the Tarleton State College cam-
pus must register each semester
his vehicle with the college at the
Dean of Students' Office not later
than 48 hours after his arrival
on the campus," This rule applies
to college employees as well.
To register a car, the operator
should pay the car registration
fee at the College Fiscal Office,
then take the registration fee re-
ceipt to the Dean of Students' Of-
fice. There they will be issued a
decal, which is to be attached to
the lower left inside of the wind-
shield.
Registration fees are $2 per
semester for students and $4 per
year for college employees.
Parking regulations state that
dormitory students' vehicles must
remain in assigned dormitory park-
ing areas, except for moving off
or onto the campus, between the
hours of 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday, and from
7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. They
may park in other areas. they
choose at other times, provided
such parking does not violate any
campus parking regulations.

ped with enough boxes to take
care of an increased future en-
rollment. The lounge area, also
immediately within the main en-
trance, is furnished with comfort-
able furniture for studying, visit-
ing, or listening to stereo records.
The stereo AM and FM radio and
record player has just been added
to the lounge this week. Also,
there is ample space for hats and
coats to be placed while enjoying
the center.
The snack bar, which is equip-
ped to facilitate fast cafeteria-

main floor and can be sized ac-
cording to, the needs of the group
using them.

rooms with provisions for a bowl-
ing alley to be completed in the
