dormitory rooms about this time each year. Why
the sudden neatness ? Visiting pai'ents, of course.
The dormitories will be open to parents ori May
3 as part of the activities planned for annual
Parents' Day, and here are four boys that will
have a shining' room awaiting1 them.

Organizational Meeting
A new campus organization, the
Tarleton" Arch'eological Society, ia
now in the process of formation.
The organizational meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday, April
22, at 7:30 p.m. in Conference
Room B in the Tarleton Center,
The purpose of ths club will be
to further interest in North
' American Indian artifacts and
other archeological matters of in-
terest. There are many societies
-of this nature in Texas, but none
in the_ immediate vicinity.
The TAS will be organizated as
a. departmental club. Under this
classification, there, will be no
scholastic limitations. Also, hon-
orary membership is open to
members of the faculty and com-
munity.
The exhibit that is now on dis-
play in the Library is owned by
prospective members of the TAS.
This exhibit is a collection of ar-
rowheads, dart points, corn grind-

For Nominating Queen
The campus-wide election of
Parents' Day Queen is scheduled
for April 27,
Nominations may be made by
-any individual, organization, club,
or group. These nominations must
be signed by the individual,' presi-
dent, or chairman submitting the
' nomination. The deadline for nomi-
nating is Friday', 24, at noon. All
nominations.must.be turned , in to
the. Dean's secretary prior to this
. time. All nominees must have a"
12-12 grade point ratio to be eli-
gible.
The nominees will be placed on
a ballot and will be voted on by
the student body on the 27 th. The
girl receiving the most votes mil
be crowned Parents' Day Queen at
a special awards program on the
afternoon of Parents' Day, May 8,
at the Memorial Stadium, The run-
ners-up-will make up the Queens'
Court.

Annual Parents' Day
Scheduled, for May 3
The annual observance of Par-
ents' Day ist scheduled for May 3.
This day is set aside for the pur-
pose of letting parents of Tar-
leton students tour the campus,
meet the faculty, and observe the
presentation of awards and hon-
ors to outstanding students.
Upon arrival on the campus,
the parents will be expected to re-
gister in the new Tarleton Center.
The Center will welcome the visit-
ors and they are coi'dially invited
to tour the new building.
All of the local churches will
hold services at the lisua time.
The churches extend an invitation
to all parents and students to at-
tend these morning services.
The afternoon program will be-
gin with the ROTC awards for the
best company, platoon, squad, and
outstanding cadet of the year.
This program will, be 12:40.
Following the ROTC awards, a
tour of the campus will be con-
ducted. This tour will include de-
partmental displays, the library,
and other points of interest.
From 2:10 through 3:10, open
house will be held in thB Tarleton
Center which will be followed by a
special program in the Memorial
Stadium.
The special program will in-
clude a band concert, a welcome

Martin Luther'
The famous motion picture
"Martin Luther will be shown
twice in a special feature pre-
sentation with flimed commen-
tary by Dr. Roland H. Bainton,
eminent Luther scholar, at the
Bibe Chair of the Church of
Christ, 109-3 W, Tarleton, Friday
at 3 and 7 p.m.
This new version of the film
was created to,make the story of
Luther especially clear and in-
spiring,
Dr. Bainton, noted biographer
from Yale University, adds help-
ful background and historical
notes, dividing the film into three
major portions. Part 1, "The
Ninety-Five Theses," includes the
period from Luther's entry into
the monastery through the post-
ing of the theses.
Part II, "By Faith Alone," in-
cludes the Leipzig debates and
Luther's historic stand before the
Diet of Worms. Part III, "Cham-
pions of the Faith," describes Lut-
her's stay at the Wartburg Cast-
le, the spread of the Reformation*
and the Augsburg Confession.
This film was ordered for a
church history course at Tarleton
and is being made available to the
general public for its historical
interest. There is no admission

Carothers for vice-president, came
out on top in the election, Jones*
unopposed, had an easy victorys
but the second spot on the ballot
was more hotly contested.
Three candidates had theis
names on the ballot for the vice-
presidential position. Those were
Joe Carothers, Bill Richardson,
and Tom Savage; Carothers re-
ceived the nomination from th®
Progressive Party. Richardson
and Savage ran aa independents
Although Carothers received
the greatest number of votes, 287s
he failed to get a majority, Rich-
ardson received 19® and Savage
got 123. The Student Council Con-
stitution does not stipulate that
the winning candidate must have
a majority, so as it stands now,
Carothers is the victor. However,
at press time, there was a pitition
in circulation recommencing a
runoff between Richardson and
Carothers. The decision concern-
ing the runoff is pending actioa
by the Student Council,
