Milly Cannan, a junior elemen-
tary education major from Con-
roe, has been elected to reign
over -Homecoming activities this
week; Milly was elected Home-
coming Queen in a campus wide
election on Wednesday, Novem-
ber 11.'
■Active in all phases of campus
life, Miily is a member of the
Owls Social Club and is secretary
of the Student Council.
Members of the Homecoming
court include Ann Askey, a senior
English .major from San Saba;
Kay Pilcher, a sophomore Eng-
lish major from Stephen,ville;
Jarin Pilcher, sophomore homo
economics major from Stephen-
villa; and Mieki Roberson, a
Sophomore physical edueation-lib-
eral arts major from Carlton.
Homecoming Begins
Homecoming will officially get
under way Thursday evening at
6:30. At this time a pep rally will
be held ,on the street In front of
the Administration Building. Im-
mediately following, President
Howell will strike the first blow
to start the traditional drum-beat-
ing, which will continue until kick-
off time Saturday,
Individual ramps in the boy's
dorms will be responsible for tho
drum-beating at night and the
girl's dorms will be responsible
for the beating during the day;
tboth tho Men's and Women's
Dormitories will sponsor a free
dance on the slab.
Mr. Lawrence of the Acme Mus-
ic Company is donating a juke box
for the evening. Herman Alsup
will "femcee the program, which
will consist of a dance contest and
a prize to be given to the "best
dressed freshman girl." Both con-
tests will be judged by the ap-
plause of the crowd.
In case ;of bad weather, the
dance will be moved into the Tar-
leton Center.
Friday
Friday's activities will get un-

Dance
Once the drum-boating is well
under way, the House Councils of
PreliYiInai-y 1 .l;jn - for .the. bon-
fire include ! collecting, which
will begin on Wednesday. All stu-
dents who will In alilo to help in
the collection, are requested to
meet in front of the Tarleton Cen-
ter at 1 p.m, on Wednesday and
Thursday. Wood gathering will
continue until 5 p.m. on both of
the above days.
Bonfire
At 6:15 Friday all TSC students
are to meet on the island in front
(of the Dining Hall for a snake
Idance to the bonfire. The bon-
fire and pep rally will begin at
6:30 on the parking' lot at Me-
morial Field.
The main event at the bonfire
will be the presentation of the new
cannon, "Oscar Pow." Built by the
Corps of Cadets, with the help of
Mr. Leeth and Dr. Blanchard, tho
cannon will be maintained by the
Student Council and will be the re-
sponsibility of the TTP. "Oscar
Pow" will be fired each time the
"Texans" score, as well, as at the
beginning of each game .and at
halftime.
A dance is scheduled at 7:30
p.m. Friday in the Tarleton Cen-
ter. :

Beginning Saturday morning ..at
8:30 and continuing until' 9:30.
ex-students, and visitors will re-
gister in the Tarleton. Center and
Sit Memorial Field.
The Homecoming parade will
begin in. downtown Stephenville
at 10 a.m. Saturday, Vehicles, in
the parade will- assemble at Me-
morial Field parking area at 8:45
a.m.; marching unite will assem-
ble at Tarleton Avenue and Race
Street mot later th^n 0:30 a.m.;
!and riding groups will assemble
not later than i>:30 a.m. in the.
area between the Santa Fa depot
and Tarleton Avenue.
1954 Champs
Members of tlia 1954 Pioneer
Conference Champion Football
ffeam, who are being honored dull-
ing all Homecoming activities, will
be the guest of the Athletic De-
partment in the Robin Room at
11:30 Saturday.
Pregame
Pregame activities, which begin
at 1 p.m. at Memorial Field, will
include presentation of the Home-
coming Queen, presentation of the
1954 football team, and a perfor-
mance by the Wainwright Rifle's'.
Kickoff
Kickoff time is 1:80 for the Tar-
leton - Southwestern Oklahoma
State game. During halftime cere-
monies,' the Wainwright Debs,
'Stephenville' Hi^gh School Band
and Stingerettes, and the Tarleton
Band will perform.
Other bands which will be on
hand Saturday for the parade and
Queen
at the game include Mineral Wells
Junior High; Stephenville Junior
High; Early Jicnior High; Mico
High; Gorman High; and Rising.
Star High.
Also, Glen Rose High; DeLeon
High; Alvarado High; Granbury
High; Dublin High; Brewer High
of Fort Worth;" and Stephenville
High.
Following the game and poet
events, there will be a fellowship
meeting of all ex-studenta in tho
Tarleton Center, where ali-
ments will be served.
