The county-wide rally of
boys’ and girls’ clubs being
held at City Park today is well
attended, some 125 or 150 per-
sons being present. The fore-
noon hours were devoted to
stock judging by the boys and
various talks. A splendid
luncheon was served on tables
at noon, this being provided by
the Chamber of Commerce and
served by the members of the
Woman’s Auxiliary.
The event was planned by
Miss Orphie Reid, county home
demonstration agent, and O.
C. LaGrone, county agricultur-
al agent, who did the work
preparatory to the event be-
fore hand. Major P. J. Dunne,
head of the ribbon cane grow-
ers of Texas, acted as master
of ceremonies in an able way.

Miss Myrtle Murray, poul-

department of the A. & M.
College, talked on the culling
of poultry, her talk being both
practical and instructive.
Dresses made by the club girls
were on display. The small
sums for which these dresses
were made is amazing, some
being as low as $1.05 and
around that mark. The style
show with awarding of prizes
was to be made during the
afternoon. Mrs. W. C. Trout
was to make the formal award

afternoon as well as biscuit

the girls. County Judge J. T.

remarks. Miss Reid is very
much indebted to Mesdames I.

others for valuable aid render-

so successfully.
