Laxity of enforcement encourages

The young man referred to in
the following letter is Mr. Arthur
Lochte, a son of Mrs. Friedrich
Lochte and a graduate of St.
Anthony’s Business College 1921.
We are glad to note that one of
our boys is the recipient of these
honors. The letter following is
self-explanatory.
San Antonio, Texas,
Sept, 22, 1921.
Mr. J. M. Dubray,
Fredericksburg, Texas.
Dear Mr. Dubray:
We are mailing you under se-
parate cover, the Silver Medal
won by Mr. Lochte during your
last term of school. The writer
is very sorry that he will not be
able to be in Fredericksburg and
make the presentation to Mr.
Lochte, personally. Our New
York office advised us some time
ago to send one of our represen-
tatives to your school and the
writer would have been there
this week had not the flood in
San Antonio made it necessary
for him to remain here.
We want to extend to Mr.
Lochte our sincere congratula-
tions. So far as the writer
knows, this is the first Medal that
has been won in this district.
This is not only to the credit of
Mr. Lochte, but due credit
should also be given to the St.
Anthony’s Business College and
especial!y to Prof J. M. Dubray.
The percentage of students who
win a Medal of this kind is very
small and when you take into
consideration the number of Bu-
siness Colleges and Schools with
Commercial Courses that we have
in this territory, you are certainly'
entitled to a great deal of credit
for having one of your pupils
win this trophy.
Regretting very much that we
were unable to have a representa-
tive call on you personally and
again congratulating Mr Lochte,

A meeting of Farm Bureau
Postmaster A. R. Gohl has had
some correspondence with Major
Carl Spatz at Ft. Sam Houston
in regard to placing Fredericks-
burg as an aerial station on the
air route from San Antonio to
Cheyenne, Wyoming. The mat-
ter will be taken up by the Cham-
ber of Commerce at its next re-
gular meeting.
Preparatory to the final ac-
tion of this body. President 11.
H. Sagebiel and Mr. A. R. Gold
have examined several sites
which might be suitable as a
landing place and the gentlemen
have agreed that perhaps the
most suitable site would be what
is known as the Schneider Berg
on the Kerrville road just ad-
joining town. For such a land-
ing place the government requir-
es a plot of ground at least 500
yards square, fairly level, the
center and four corners to be
marked plainly. This site would
be splendid in many ways, it has
the required surface area, needs
litttle work to level it,. has no
high building, or wire obstrue-
l tions, and wet weather will not
hinder aeroplane operations. The
present owners Messrs. Ad. Gold
and E. E. Hahn have expressed
a willingness to donate the use
of this tract for an aerial sta-
