Notes

Text: “Dear Harris & Lee. Herewith airplane ticket for trip from N.Y. to Saranac which we did not use; as we finally decided to come from N.Y. here by train. Please turn it over to Life at Harvey Travel Bureau - asking for either (a) ticket (in exchange) from Saranac to N.Y. City of (b) refund. Have him wire please, night message, which he will do - I must know before I purchase my return passage. I have reservations out of N.Y. to Houston for Tuesday August 25th via Eastern - and when these were confirmed, ‘it is presumed’ I will buy the transportation when I get to N.Y. - tho [sic] I would have preferred to have Harvey Travel issue the whole business (Tuesday comes under its 1 2/3 rate). While the subject of wiring - why not if this letter reaches you Monday please & ask Merrill Lynch or […]body Houston to have their N.Y. office wire me (collect) the govt report when issued Monday. Nothing else to report or […] to report except that my bridge game has been quite profitable to my opponents and Henny has had similar results at Canasta - otherwise our old friends have treated us cordially and pleasantly. Have […] few inviting acquaintances. Love to family and friends in which Henny fondly joins. Yrs Ike.”
