Dear Mr. Kempner:
We are again planning a great celebration on German Day
this year, October 10th and 11th. We will have a similar
program, and in addition, will host 40 German Industrialists
from Duesseldorf. This group is coming over by invitation
of Governor John Connally for a State Tour and will also be
sponsored by other civic organizations.
As proven by our success last October, we feel that all
Texans of German descent were very grateful to have the
opportunity to celebrate German Day. However, such
occasions call for financial support and we must ask you
again for help in defraying the expenses.
Any contribution you deem appropriate would be
appreciated and we hope that you will be able to attend the
festivities this year.
With best wishes,
Sincerel,
S Per shon Canaan, Chairm an
Consul of Germany
