izing what it was thought some
town north of us was burning
up and it was the red glow from
the fire.
Sunday a number drove up to
Pittsburg to see the damage,
and were told that it was fur-
ther north, and some drove to
Mt. Pleasant, to be told that it
was further on, and they return
ed without having reached it.
-The joke of it was that they
would have had to have an air-
plane and driven for several
days to reach the scene of the
phenomena in the far away arc-
tic regions.
Her funeral took place Mon-
day afternoon at the Morris
Cemetery between Gilmer and

day going from Mt. pleasant to
Tyler, with two men in.it, made
a forced landing, about two
miles to the left of the Jeffer-
son Highway near West Moun-
tain.
Head winds amounting to al-
most a storm caused them to
make the landing and after the
plane struck the ground it turn-
ed over and spilled he "weu-
pants out, but dd not hurt them
The plane was slightly injured.
Twnety-five Gilmerites have
been warned to work the streets
tomorrow, because they have
failed to pay their street tax.
Others will be warned if the
ax is not paid immediately.
Those who refuse both com-
plaints will be filed against
them at once and they will be
arrested and have to pay a fine
and cost in addition to the steet
tax.
