American Consul General
Zurich, & witzerland
Dear Sir:
Under date of March 25, 1939, I signed an affidavit
in behalf of Mrs. Augusta Goldberger, her husband, Erich Cold-
berger, and her two children with the hope of having you issue a
visa to permit. them to emigrate to the United States and reside
here. I understand there has been some delay on the ground
that the heads of the family do not speak English and are not
familiar with the American working conditions. in view of the
fact that these people are comparatively young, vigourous, and
active, they will find ready employment here; and they have an
affidavit of support during any reasonable period of unemploy-
ment.
I sincerely hope you will be able to authorize issuance
of a visa, unless of course you have reasons entirely unknown to
me for withholding it.Submitting the matter to your
consideration, I beg to remaincourteous and generous
Yours very truly,
