All of Mills County received a
good rain sunday night with
reports ranging from 1.30 inches
up to more than two inches.

ctal 136 inches, according to
Barry Allen, weatherman.
This brings the total for
March to 1,75 inches.
year. By 1970 it is expected to
rise to 90 billion. It is clear,
therefore, that we must re-
three to five.
Goldthwaite and star dis-
tricts have three candidates,
Mullin has four and Priddy has
five, according to official report
from County Judge Cecil Egger,
who received filings for the
trustee election. Deadline for
filing was last Thursday.
There will be ao contest in

GOLDTHWAITE
Candidates on the Goldth-
waite school ballots will be:
Elmo Watson, Mrs. Gladys
Burnham, and J. D Harper.
Watson and Harper are candi-
dates for re-election.
This is the first time in many
years that voters in the Gold-
thwaite district have had a
woman on the ballot for school
trustee. Two women have served
on the Goldthwaite school board
in the past. They were Mrs R.
L Steen and Mrs. T. J. Collier.

Chairman Duren announced
that the fund had a balance of
$52 28 as of January 1 Report
was also made that interested
parties responded in a splendid
way last year by contributing
approximately $1,800 This took
care of park maintenance last
year and also took care of the
approximately $600 deficit from
prior years
The committee needs a mini-
mum of $1,200 for caretaker
alone through the growing sea-
son The Community Improve-
ment Committee is working on
some improvements for the
park and the city does its share
of work with respect to roads
and other details.
It was pointed out that it is
that time of the year again
The growing season is here and
it is time for park maintenance
work to get underway
On another page of this issue
can be found official appeal
from the committee for finan-
cial support of the project
The committee hopes to en-
list at least 100 persons to con-
tribute $12.00, or more, per year
for park maintenance.
Last year a good many raised
their contributions a number
gave 825 and $30 which helped
to put the drive over the top
The park committee hopes
that interested persons will
again respond with their dona-
tions as they have done in the
past so that mall campaign and
personal contact work will not
be heeded to insure park up-
keep for the season
Past support is appreciated
by committee members who are
now in a receptive mood for
this year's contributions, Duren
stated
Honor roll of park fund con-
tributors will be published soon.
