Brown reported 13 inches. W
A. Berry reported 1% inches
and our gauge registered 14
inches. Mrs Brown reported a
trace of hall and the electricity
off a few hours.
A L Crawford attended the
livestock sale at Comanche and
while there he visited with Mr
and Mrs Jess Stanley of Bangs.
They are both former residents
of this community

We are sorry about Mrs
"Aunt Jennie" Harman’s death.
She was a long time resident
of this community. She enjoyed
her neighbors and visited them
when they were sick. She was
always a helping hand at the
North Brown Cemetery We will
miss her and we extend our
sympathy to her loved ones

January IBM according to W. P.
Duren, Chairman of the Mills
County Savings Bonds Commit-
tee 12.5% of the yearly sales
goal has been achieved
During January, sales of I b
H Savings Bonds in Texas to-
taled >14,777,595 This repre-
sents 9.8% of the state goal of
>150,000,000
“During the coming few
months a great many taxpayers
will be eligible for tax refunds
from their 1963 income tax. We
would like to remind these peo-
ple that they have the option
of taking their 1983 refund in
Savings Bonds There are two
big advantages to taking re-
funds to Savings Bonds: The
taxpayer will be more apt to
hang onto his refund if it is
taken in Savings Bonds, plus
the fact that if they keep the
bonds until they mature the
person receiving the tax refund
will get back 3400 for every
$3.00. Then too. the purchase of
Savings Bonds helps provide for
our country’s future as well as
our own," Chairman Duren
stated.

Funeral services for Jess 8.
Ivy of Route 1, Goldthwaite,
will be held this morning at
10:00 o’clock in the Wilkins
Funeral Chapel. Services will be
conducted by Elder Jasper
Chambers of Lampasas, assist-
ed by Curtis Ripley of Goldth-
waite. Burial will be in the
North Brown Cemetery under
the direction of the Roy Wilkins
Funeral Home.
Mr. Ivy was born in William-
son County, Texas, April 1, 1800
and passed away at his home
Tuesday morning, March 10.
1984 He came to Mills County
in 1902. He was a stock fanner.
On December 31, 1908 he was
married to Miss Clemmie Cara-
way in Mills County.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
J. 8. Ivy of Goldthwaite; one
