a native of Goldthwaite and a member of the World renown
United States Army Parachute Team "The Golden Knights," ac-
cepted an Invitation and participated in the Fairview, Oklahoma
Third Annual Skydiving Meet held in Fairview, Oklahoma Satur-
day and Sunday, February 8 and 7 The "Golden Knights” have
appeared in numerous demonstrations throughout the state. They
have demonstrated their parachuting ability before over 47 million
spectators in the United States and in 15 foreign countries.
Sergeant Letbetter, the son of Mr and Mrs. Carl Letbetter,
Goldthwaite, is reported among the top competitors in the world
today in the parachuting circles He is stationed at Fort Bragg,
North Carolina.

Set For Millin
Mayor O C Henry has ord-
H > ered a city election to be held
in the City of Mullin on Tues-
r day. April 6, being the first
Tuesday in April.
The election is for the pur-
pose of electing a mayor and
two aidermen for a regular two
year term, according to official
notice appearing in this issue of
the paper.
/ Aidermen whose terms expire
j ‘this year are C E Ferugson and
‘ J. E. Phillips. Phillips is serving
an un-expired term of Herman
Locke, who moved from Mullin.
Holdover members are Bert
Lockett, Bruce Scott and A. M.
Keating.
The election will be held in
the G. I. Building in Mullin,
Mr. Henry announced.

Extended Monday
By School Board
Contracts for administrators
and coaches in Goldthwaite
public schools were extended by
the Board of Education in their
regular meeting Monday night
The contract of head coach
Jackie Williams was extended
. for two years running through
the school year 1967-68
Assistant coach Russell Nally
was given a two year contract
which goes through the school
year 1966-67
Superintendent LeRoy Beard,
i high school principal Hoyett
Browning and elementary
school principal Ray Standley
were given a one year exten-
sion of their contracts which
will go through the-school year
1987-68
The board also approved
plans for head coach Jackie
Williams to attend the Coaches’
Spring Clinic to be held at Rice
University in Houston.

The signup for the 1965 feed
grain program now is under
way in the ASCS County of-
fice. E. L Burkett, Chairman,
ASCS County committee, has
announced. The signup period
started February 8 and will
continue through March 26
The Chairman explained that
the program for 1965 is basic-
ally the same as in 1964 it is
voluntary, and combined corn,
grain sorghum, and barley in
a single feed grain base Partic-
ipating farmers will qualify for
divertd-acre and price-support
payments, and they will be
eligible for price-support loans
Farmers who take part in the
program may divert for pay-
ment ae small an acreage as 20
par cent of the farm’s feed
grain base or as large an acre-
age as SO par cent of the base—
or to acres, if this is larger.
Two rates of diversion pay-
meat are offered. The lower
