y dear Sid:
Referring to your letter of the 2nd in connection with Fort
Crockett, we have received a letter from Lyndon Johnson of which the
attached iw a copy. I am urging the 4$enator to come to Galveston
after Congress adjourns or during his campaign for re-election to in-
spect Fort Crockett. I believe he can be convinced that part of it
might even be subject to the benefits of a slum clearance appropria-
tion if we don' t get any further in our hopes and plans.
