on Saturday. Curtain is 8:15
p.m. nightly and 2:30 for mati-

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ers-
kine Roach. MISs Roach will
become the bride of Mr. Fred-
erick Wilson of Houston on

Memorial Chapel in Graham.
Miss Roach is the grand-
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Jordan Roach of
Eliasville, both of whom were
members of pioneer families of
that area. Mrs. Roach was for
many years a news contributor
to the Graham Leader. Mr. and
Mrs. Erskine Roach have only
recently made their home in
Graham, after having lived for
many years in Houston.
Mrs. F. E. Senters and Mrs.
Blaine Divine poured tea and
coffee from the silver service,
and Mrs. Charles Gilbert Stokes
of Garland presided at the sil-
ver punch bowl. The lace cov-
ered table was centered with
white carnations and ferns in a
silver bowl, with silver and cry-
stal hurricane lamps at either
side of the buffet. The side table
was lighted with large brass
candelabra from Hong Kong.
In the receiving line were the
hostesses, Mrs. Erskine Roann
Miss Roach, the honoree, and
Mrs. Tommy Evans of Lubbock,
sister of the bride. Also in the
house party were Misses Lynn,
Nell, and Deborah Stokes of
Garland, nlacaa Ssmuet —
Roach, and Mrs. Garth Baker.
Miss Nell Stokes asked guests
to register to the bride's book.
Refreshments were served to
about one hundred guests dur-
ing the afternoon.

Eugene Oatman of Loving was in the office Wednesday
telling us that his White Leghorn hen was still setting on a
smatt glass jar - This is her second month and she is still
thinking her baby chicks will hatch just any day She will get
oft for food and water, but returns to her nest We wonder if
some of Eugene's friends couldn't take over a few baby chicks
and give to this motherless hen’

Family Reunion
Held Saturday
The annual reunion of the
family of the late Mr. and Mrs,
S. D. Davis of Eliasville was
held at the Eliasville Taber-
nacle Saturday and Sunday, Au-
gust 7-8 with a total of 85 in
attendance.
Two of thirteen children sur-
vive and were both present for
the 58th consecutive reunion.
They are Argo Davis, Graham,
and Mrs. Stella Caldwell of
Arlington.

oree and residents of the home.

accompaniment to the birthday

The birthday sodg was sung to
Mr. Padgett and greetings and
good wishes were exchanged.
Mr. Padgett, a brother of
Dr. W. O. Padgett, was born
near Fort Smith, Arkansas, Au-
gust 9, 1975, his parents, Alex-
ander and Emily Padgett mov-
ed into the Center Ridge com-
munity east of Graham in 1884.
