At or just before the last term of the court, he
was driven froin his home by a mob, and a
judgment ni. li. taken on his boad ; the hond
has not yet been j aid, nor will it be Until final
judgment.
In relation to.his keeping twoor three freed-
women around him, the facts in die case arc
simply these : two women, the wive* of mur-
dered freedmen, Went to the houseof A. Rucker
after the murder of their husbands, pevnilese,
and Rucker lias been supporting them. Theae-
certion that he hac a very Bmall interest in the
farm, is without any foundation in truth.
In relation to the freedman bring murdered
at his house, it was unavoidable. Mo lar as
Rucker was concerned, themurderer.had been
denied the privilege of Rucker ‛e house by
Rucker, and to avepge himself he wept to
Rucker ‛s white drupk and, committed the
deed. Kucker keepsas orJerlya house as ahy
man, black or white, in Tarrant omaty. Per-
hape, in the criminal docket of Tarrant coun-
ty there might be a few cases of cow-
stealing docReted ogainst twe certain other per-
