BEST DINING CAR SERVICE IN THE WORLD.
The Rock Island is foremost in adopt-
ing any advantage calculated to im-
prove speed and give that luxury, safety
and comfort that popular patronage de-
mands. . Its equipment is thoroughly
complete with vestibuled trains, mag-
nificent dining cars, sleepers and chair
coaches, all the most elegant, and of
recently improved patterns.
Faithful and capable management
and polite, honest service from em-
ployes are important items. They ai •
a double duty—to t he Company and to
travelers— and it is sometimes a task
diflicult of accomplishment. Passen-
gers on this line will find little cause
for complaint on that ground.
The importance of this Line can be
better understood if a short lesson in
geography be now recited.
What is the great Eastern termini of
the Rock Island Route?—Chicago.
What other sub-Eastern termini has
it?—Peoria. To what important points
does it run trains to the Northwest?—
St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota,
and Watertown and Sioux Falls, Da-
kota. To what important Iowa and
Nebraska points? Des Moines, Daven-
port, Iowa; Omaha and Lincoln, Ne-
braska.

at the
World’s Fair.
At the close of the Texas Association
meeting, held at Dal las, Tex., May 9th
to 12th inclusive, 1893, the members left
on their annnal excursion. Tue destina-
tion this time was Chicago and the
World’s Fair. The Iron Mountain Route
between Texarkana and St. Louis, was
selected as the official line. This selec-
tion on the part of the Texas Press As-
seciattoa was a wise one, fer the reason
that the Iron Mouatain Route with its
connections, has done mere to advertise
“The Lone Star State” throughout the
East, North and West, than any other
railroad, and the selection of this line
for the trip to the World’s Fair is a rec-
ognition of the friendly feeling in which
this road is held by the Press of Texas,
and is proof of their hearty endorsemeni
to any of their friends, or to toe public
at large, contemplating a trip to the fa-
mons “White City.”
This line offers tickets at the lowest
of rates, with stop-over privileges, dou-
ble daily service from Texas points to
St. Leuis and Chicago, shortest line and
equipped with elegant Puliman Buffet
Sleeping car service, reclining chair cars
(in which the seats are free) and the new
model high back adjustable seats la their
coaches. Particulars and further irfor-
mation will be cheerfully furn'shed on
application to Jne. C. Lewis, Traveling

from all quarters, and the
house was soon packed to

of the morning consisted of
brief examinations of the dif
