THE REAL TEST
Of Herpicide Is In Giving It a ThOr
. ough Trial.
There is only one test by which to
judge of the efficiency of any article
and that is by its ability to do that
which it is intended to do. Many hair
vigors may look nice and smell nice,
but the point is—do they eradicate Dan-
druff and stop falling hair?
No, they do not, but Herpicide does,
because it goes to the root of the evil
Quanah.—The stockmen in the
Quanah country have decided upon a
big wolf drive December 31. The lobo
wolves have killed many calves and
are particularly fearless this winter,
owing to the dry weather. It is antici-
pated that some hundreds of them will
be killed as a result of the drive.
Weimer.—Sam Hancock, Jr., has
returned home from Kosse where he
had been working with a hobby horse
outfit. While at that point a few days
since he angered a drunken man, who
| deliberately threw a bottle of pepper
sauce into the boy’s eyes, almost
blinding him. It was feared for a time
he would lose the sight of one eye,
but the physicians here say he will
eventually get all right.
Calvert.—Burglars broke into the
store house of McCrary, Allen & Dur-
ry, an entrance being effected from
the top of the building through the
skylight. They succeeded in ap-
propriating unto themselves clothes
and money. Two negroes have been
arrested by Marshal C. R. Lovett and
placed in jail. The matter will be
thoroughly investigated.
Dallas.—The committee appointed
at the recent anti-divorce meeting at
Dallas has issued a statement to the
. effect that active work will be im-
! medately undertaken. It is proposed
I to interest as many communities as I
possible and to bring all the pressure I
of these committees to bear on the
legislature to bring about the changes
desired in the marriage and divorce
laws.
Uvalde.—In charging the grand jury
for Uvalde county, District Judge Bur-
ney told that the inquisitors that a
man who rendered less property than
j he really owned or who rendered it
I at a less value than the true one was
as guilty of perjury as a false witness
in a criminal case.
Velasco.—W. W. Hoskins, president
of the banks at Angleton and Velasco,
which recently closed, has given out a
statement that the banks are not in
financial straits, but the one at Angle-
ton was caught short of funds when
the run started. He further promises
that both will be reopened in a short
time with sufficient cash to pay in full
every claim.
Galveston.—Charles Clarke & Co.
have announced that they will begin
work on the dredging at Brazos San-
tiago within ten days. The govern-
ment has had $50,000 available for this
contract for some time, but for some
reason did not order the work to
start. It is proposed to dredge a ten-
i foot channel across the bar to allow
I of vessels getting to Brownsville.
