Notes

The text on the front of the artwork reads: "The agony of the coming day." The letter on the back of the artwork reads: "Japanese generals and gentlemen, We pay our respects to your courageous and unparalleled work, and we cannot help but feel deeply sorry for your personal failings in the face of such hardships and hardships. Now that the attack on your island has begun, your future is clear. We have also visited the last of the abandoned Japanese soldiers in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, Atsugu Musaipan, and Palau. Every time the Japanese soldiers counterattacked, the result was a crushing defeat. From then on it became impossible to replenish supplies due to the disadvantage of retreating to unknown mountainous areas. At the same time, some people are in the state of explosives, and the injured are in a state where it is difficult to heal. It was difficult to avoid a painful death, and the others were not only deprived of food and drink, but were also forced to evacuate to the rear. It is clear from past operations that retreat will be completely impossible. Such a state of affairs may cause some of you to give up on yourself. However, the rest will be forced to survive like beasts due to fatigue and starvation. Gentlemen!!! As mentioned above, I am a human being far from my homeland. There is something that I would like you to keep in mind before you reach that tragic (unknown). If any of you wants to make peace with us, we should take responsibility as human beings, not enemies, and provide them with food, clothing, shelter, and medical treatment."
