MORE BRICK BUILDINGS
TO BE CONSTRUCTED
The Building Boom Contin-
ues With Unabated
Interest.
N. G. Rollins has had plans
drawn and is having material
placed on the ground for a new
brick business house 47x100 feet,
double decked and modern in
every respect. Actual construc-
tion will begin in the next few
days and it is expected the build-
ing will be ready for occupancy
early in January.
Messrs. McCamant & Carring-
ton of the Star Drug Store have
purchased a lot on west side and
contemplate the erection of a
nice brick building on same in
the near future.
Verily the good work goes on,
and ceaseth not.
Change in Lumber Business.
There was quite a change in
the lumber business in Asper-
mont the past week. Higgin-
botham-Harris Company and
Brazelton-Pryor Company sold
to the other three yards in As-
permont, each of which bought
a one-third interest in the two
yards. This leaves us with only
three yards, but they are all
good yards and stocked with
first-class lumber.
There will be preaching at the
Presbyterian church beginning
Thursday night, Nov. 11th and
continuing each night during
the remainder of the week, also
on Sunday morning and night.
Rev. Elliott of Colorado City and
Rev. Welch of Aspermont will be
in charge of these services.
A cordial invitation is extended
to the people of the community
to attend these services.

Corrected to Noy. 11th
Ernest Rollins was inquiring
for the census taker Monday
stating that the population of
our little city had been increased
and he desired to have show it im-
mediately upon the census re-
port. Ernest says it is a most
promising 8-pound boy. The
mother and son are doing nicely
and the attending physician
giyes the encouraging report
that with proper care Mr. Rol-
lins will speedily recover from
his "son-stroke."
N. G. Rollins is having mater-
ial placed on the ground for the
erection of a modern brick busi-
ness house 47x100 feet on the lot
recently purchased from the
bank.
Telephone System Changes
Hands.
Messrs. Caraway have sold the
Stamford - Northwestern tele-
phone system to Lee Bros, who
will take charge on the 15th and
conduct the bbsiness as hereto-
fore. We understand the ser-v
vices of Miss Pearl Freeman as
operator and Frank Skinner as
general repair and lineman, will
be retained, a fact we are pleased
to note, as they are both very
popular with our people and
know how to cater to the wishes
of the public. Without them we
do not believe the spstem would
be successful.
Married
Mr. W. G. Billingsley and Mrs.
Julia A. Sanders of Swenson
drove to Aspermont Sunday
morning and were united in
marriage, Judge Ernest Herring
performing the ceremony Mrs.
Sanders is a daughter of Mr. N.
Davis, the popular merchant at
Swenson, and is held in high
esteem by all who know her.
Mr. Billingsley is manager of
the lumber yard at Swenson and
is too well known to the people
of the community to need any
introduction from us.
We wish them all the peace
and happiness conducive to the
matrimonial state.
