The Texas Industrial Con-
gress is intj jducing a new fea-
ture into its work this year
which is being received with
enthusiasm, particularly by
the fanners of wist Texas.
Last year the Congress con-
fined its prize of er to crops
grown without irrigation, but
it is now offering, in Class K,
Si.ooc, divided into twelve
prizes, for the best yields of
merchantable kaflir corn or
nnlo maize grown upon 011
two acres of irrigated land.
The first prize in this class is
$300, second £200, and for
the ten iK'Nt best results $50
each. This is a free-for-all
contest, being open to men,
women, boys and girls. Al-
most simultaneously with the
public announcement of the
odor replications to enter the
contest in this class came from
Brewster county, in the ex-
treme southwestern part of
