The S. Harriott arrived safe cufev. days since by which I
reed, your favr of the 5th and 6ti^ Inst covering Bill of lading and
invoice of the articles sent by the Harriott I am sory to hear that
cotton is on the decline oar cotton commenced opening earlier this ^
season then I ever new it inconciquence of the dry weather but the*^^^
has changed, it commenced raining on the 9th% Inst and rained every
day except one since and still continues if it continues raining much
longer it will cut our crops nhort
You mention that you can get- ^700r in Pry goods ^taplc^ articles
on **K. ^^^n^fr^for that amt. for my sggeyg- 1 wish you to <^p the ^
best you can with it as to Hr L^ee note if you^would^ta^e it in pre-
ferancc tJ goods but if it is to be collected here I would rather hxx
hsrxKg have anything els than a Texa^ note. Hr Lee may be very punctual
this I dont know nor dont wish to try if you trade for goods endeavour
to get taple articles such as can be sold by the jsKiBB piece as I
will problebly have to get them said by sore person on commission.
