Send it to the North Pole
The Sweetwater High School Art Club recently made arts kits and donated the kits to the West Texas Children's
Advocacy Center's Angel Tree program. Angels on a Christmas tree at Wal-Mart represent children who have
been served by the WTCAC this year. Each angel has a child's gender, ages, sizes and special needs or a favorite
toy of character that the child would like. Shown above are SHS art teacher Scharles Kelley, Hannah Arnold,
Paxton Kelley, Spencer Young, Adrian Lopez, Brett Rivera and Amanda Fullwood with the WTCAC.

MIKE BAKER
Associated Press
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Family and friends of
Elizabeth Edwards recalled her Saturday as an ide-
alistic law student who challenged professors, a
political sage who offered advice at every turn and a
matriarch who comforted her family even as she was
dying of breast cancer.
Edwards' funeral drew hundreds to Edenton Street
United Methodist Church, where she once mourned
her 16-year-old son, Wade, after he died in a car crash
in 1996. She was to be buried next to him during a
private ceremony.
Speakers reflected on a multi-faceted personality:
Edwards, 61, was an intellectual who frequented dis-
count clothing stores like T.J. Maxx, she was a fiery
competitor, and she was a public figure who won the
private confidence of virtually everyone she met.
"There aren't words that are good enough," said
daughter Cate Edwards, whose eulogy contained a
passage from a letter her mother spent years prepar-
ing to leave to her children after she was gone.
"I've loved you in the best ways I've known how,"
the letter said. "All I ever really needed was you, your
love, your presence, to make my life complete."
John Edwards, her estranged husband, did not

The company has
grown its employee base

Have a colorful Christmas In Post
One of the most colorful Main Streets in West Texas
comes alive every night during the holiday season as
once again the community of Post has come together for
a spectacular Christmas display of lights and music.
Founded by cereal magnate C. W. Post who meticu-
lously planned the community, Post has a Main Street
that simply begs for the sights and sounds of Christmas.
Thousands of Tights line the buildings and Main Street
comes alive with flashing and dancing multi-colored
lights in sync with Christmas music. Store windows are
decorated and the median is filled with a giant Christmas
tree, stars, giant gift-wrapped packages, a gingerbread
man and candy canes - just to name a few.
The lighted figures and trees have become a favorite
spot for holiday photos. Bring the kids and grandma and
grandpa and take a leisurely stroll by the many deco-
rated store windows and while you're here, take a ride
on the Post Toastie Express.
Save time during the day to visit the OS Museum and
its legendary Christmas exhibit. For many years this
