Waco, Jan. 7. An ordinance which
is being prepared by City Attorney
John McGlattson may prohibit the
catching rides by Baylor students,
it was learned recently Ironi Chief
of Police Mollis llarron. The ordi-
nance which will roahe it Illegal for
anyone to ask for a ride may be ready
within a few mouths, possibly before
the end of the school year.
Haylor students have had the sanc-
tion of the city officials In the past
in catching rides. It Is thought the
action is taken partly because of the
abuse of the privilege of other tliuu
Haylor students.
Several states have passed laws

catching of rides on the highways. In

"Buddy" Reid, formerly a member of
the engineering school and of the
