Survey to be made
locally by Lutheran
Church
A religious survey is to be
made of Bastrop and the sur-
rounding area beginning June :i,
according to Mrs. Quinton Gelt-
nieier. Mrs. (ieltmeier is chair
man of a committee formed to
plan the establishment of the
first Lutheran church in Bas-
trop.
Other committee members
are W. J. Brinkmeyer, Mrs. O.
H. Warren, Ben Schroeder and
Mrs. Zoltan Koi.
Meeting with the committee
last week to help Lutherans
found a loca place of worship
wa.s Dr. V A. Mohr of Austin,
the president of the Texas dis-
trict of the Aemrican Lutheran
Church.
Another meeting is planned
in July after the completion of
the survey. The committee will
appreciate the cooperation of
all the citizens of Bastrop, said

SWIMMING POOL OPENS
The Smithville I.ions Club
Swimming Pool opened Tues-
day ..f this week, and will be
