The minutes from the previous meeting were approved and John Sanders
discussed a resolution and binding agreement to be presented to Joe Miller
of JAM productions. It was decided to send a non-negoiatable contract to
Mr. Miller and then get some feedback on it. In regards to the urshers
Ms. Sutton Taylor and Betty Roberts are to be contacted.
Mr. Matthews a VIA worker appeared before the Executive Committee to
ask our support because of harassment by VIA officials. He explained that
he was involved in a fight in which he was attacked from behihd and. has
been treated like the criminal instead of the victim. There was general
discussion on how racist VIA has been over the years. Mr. Matthews explained
that the union was weak and was no help. Mario Salas asked Mr. Matthews
to write the entire incident down and turn it in to the president as soon as
possible by Friday.
Rick Green spoke on the fact that-the Fire Dept. was getting ready to
hire some firemen and there are no Blacks in the grading. He also stated that
he would talk to Joe Webb about the Fire Dept. and the EMS situation. Ricky
also mentioned'that the agreement with Joe Miller should be signed by CUED
executive committee, Joe V/ebbb and Lou Nelle Sutton. He also talked about
the OUED legal status as is being handled by attorney Ruben Sandoval and
the fact that our legal work is being-handled by him. In regards to the
KBUC complant,Ricky and Mario relayed information from the FCC that indicated
an investigation was under way in regards to the use of the airways for the'
use of violence. Ricci Ware and Jud Ashmore were charged with racism and
purpose of inciting mob violence during
San Antonio. Also discussed was the

the name of the organization without consent with the executive committee
even if it is done by telephone vote. A motion was made by Mario Salas
and seconded by Rick Greene stating that anytime someone in the organization
uses the name of the organization or carries out projects, they must have
,approval of the executive committee. ihe vote passed unamiously.
