Cltlcnsof Texas who survive here

"radical" rule established by chican-

brutally applied but paid for by forced
levies upon legitimate capital honest-

learned how to valuo political iinfran-
chiseniont. A huge mid valuable pro-
portion of tho Immigrants Into Texas
during the last two years have been at-
tracted more perhaps by the rising
star of her political hope than any
other consideration. Remembering
our universal denunciations at home
ami abroad of the iniquities and per-
secutions of our "radical" political
enemy; remembering our terrors suf-
ferings and personal abjection uuder
their rule of which we have so long
and so nrdeutly prayed to be
delivered; remembering the patience

cently down trodden state shall cit-

In the light by thodevices and machin-
ations of our vanquished but unre-
lenting foe? Follow the trail of the
radicals through the campaign for city
ofllcers fellow -citizens! The tracks
are neither obscure nor new to you;
they all radiate from tho "loynl
league" that inquisition unparalleled
in the history of civilization born of
the devil and administered by politicul
demons and like the paths of the
cayote though devious aud far-rang
ing nil lead back to the lair; they
hold at night in unknown and
unfrequented places the same old
secret caucuses wnich so recently
struck terror into tho breusts of your
families; their organizations are com
plete aud still classified as to race ami
color; their emissaries are now as of
yore hedging against tho moral ten-
dencies of our party nnd of ourcandl
dates by crying persecution against
the former and by traducing the latter.
They luve the audacity so familiar
and so'disgustiiig to you to carricature
our gravest open councils and they
practice the indecency of covertly slan
dering our expressed tenets. They lay
selge to our national legislature with
partisan petitions for our re enslave-
ment und to cap the climax of their
pampered impudence they even dare
to openly avow that they will ca-
jole our judgement and divide
our strength. My fellow-citizens
who would bury tho dead carcass of
radicalism witli every trophy of its
infamous dynasty and every thread of
its. polluted vestments who would
shun both political fatrioide aud polit-

contribute by indiscretion to till again
