My Sister Links,
The 24th National Assembly of The Links, Inc. is over! I believe we have been faithful to our proud past.
The decisions made, officers elected, directions given, programs, goals and objectives delineated,
should point to a promising future. Who among us, will ever forget the completion of our one million
dollar pledge to the United Negro College Fund! It was a high moment in our Assembly and our history!!!
Just as we "Came Home to Philadelphia, Where it all Began," we have come to our own homes and to
a new club year where it must continue. We have come home to fulfill the ethic of primary responsibility,
to homes, jobs, friends, community, church, and all the anchors that stabilize our lives. We have come
home to cities and small towns with myriads of problems and concerns which we can address: employ-
ment, housing, education, economics, and politics. We have come home to deal with people with a
variety of concerns in their personal lives-identity, integrity, commitment, purpose and value-we can
lend a hand and a heart to help them through.
We have come home to institutions which are struggling through transition in order to fully serve the
population. We can assist them to achieve equal justice, equal opportunity, equal treatment, and equal
hope for all their constituents.
We have come home to families and children who live, work and strive under great stress and strain.
We can bring mooring and bearing to each step they take, to put each foot on solid ground in the right
direction.
We have come home to sister Links in the chapters where we belong and the other chapters nearby, to
strengthen our sisterhood in both quality and quantity, and to serve the program goals of Linkdom with
skill and imagination in the places where we live.
We have Made History, let us continue to Provide Hope.
Lovingly,
Dolly D. Ada s
National President
